The morning was basically wasted as the cleaning lady came 50 minutes later than originally supposed. We had, of course, prepared everything in advance, which means that the flat was practically unhabitable. We spent the hour of waiting in front of the telly - how nice that I had got up extra early to make everything ready!

Two and a half hours later the cleaning was done and we put everything back in place. Simultaneously, I've started the washing machine - Saturday is laundry day in our house, after all - and finished cooking. All that by 33°C. Such a fun afternoon - not!

By 5pm we were both dead on our feet and decided to have a nice, long nap (since I fell asleep over Solitary several times). Then the football started, and while I'm not really interested in it, I spent about five minutes in front of the telly around the end, biting my nails until England managed to win.

Needless to say that neither crafting nor writing got done today.

Outside, it is still 27°C, and things are supposed to get even worse next week. *sigh* I never really liked summer, but these temperatures really beat all previous dislikes.

I'm hoping at the moment that the Netherlands manage to keep that 2:1.

It's hard to escape as Mum watches every single game.

It's managed to drag itself up to thirteen degrees here, but we have cloud and rain forecast for later, so it will cool down again. I am wearing fleece trousers and top and had to turn on the heating for an hour at midday yesterday. At least you can sit back in a clean home for another week. I can only marvel at your mum's dedication to cleaning.

I'd call it an obsession — even though it only happens once in a fortnight. *g*

Well, I always loved summer- only that this year we don´t get one to my liking. It´s an up and down- 32 down to 14 in the span of a few hours, then slowly back up again... I would not mind some weeks with hot temperatures, before fall will be upon us again. Did I mention already that I hate fall?

You're welcome to our heat, too — I could gladly live without temperatures beyond 30°C.
