Today I baked five different kinds of biscuits. That meant five times worrying whether the dough will cooperate, two times worrying whether the new recipe I gave a try would turn out edible, and working from 9am to 6.15pm, with the occasional break in front of the telly.

Additionally, I also had a visitor in the morning, which was very nice. Adrienne came over for a couple of hours because her morning had unexpectedly become free. It is so much easier to work in the kitchen while chatting with someone about completely different things; we both had great fun.

Of course, four of the five sorts still will have to be filled and/or iced and decorated tomorrow, but the really hard part is beyond me. I'm up to 14 different sorts, so nearly half of them are done, which is a relief.

Consequently, not much else got done today, save for a tiny bit of writing. I haven't even cooked lunch. Fortunately, Mum is every bit as fond of Tütensuppe mit Butterbrot as I am. *g*

True, but I'll have days next week that will be way too busy with other things, so I had to bake in advance.
Love your icon, BTW. :)

You seem to be moving much faster with your baking this year. I have very fond memories of sitting chatting to my mum while she baked bread.

I don't know, this is roughly my usual speed with Christmas baking. Perhaps because I've started later than in other years?

Your baking is going apace! I have started with the cakes that can be frozen. I am never sure about doing biscuits that should be crisp until nearer the day.

I keep them in tin boxes on the unheated balcony, so they remain fairly crisp as a rule. And if they don't — well, soft biscuits are good for elderly people. *g*
