... is necessary before starting the Christmas baking. So that's what I've done today. Right after defrosting the freezer. *shudders*

So, it seems I'll be using up 6.4 kg flour, 2.3 kg caster sugar, 1.5 kg confectioner's sugar, 360 grams of brown sugar, 3.8 kg margarine and about 30 eggs. That's just the basic ingredients. There are also the various nuts, all that chocolate, chestnut puree, raw marzipan and the likes. It will be a great battle. ;)

This just about ate my morning and early afternoon, so not much else was done today. Just improvised some lunch, courtesy of the freezer and watched some telly. Oh, and talked to my friend Evie on the phone.

It is. But the biscuits will go to ten or so different families, so I'll have to produce quantity as well.

I read "right after destroying the freezer". I'm glad I just read it wrong ;)

That would be rather impractical indeed. ;)

I hope you're not going to carry all that flour in one journey. That sounds heavy.

Actually, I've already bought all these ingredients. With the heavy ones like flour and sugar I used the one package at each shopping tour method and collected everything in a time span of several months. I knew I'd need a lot, and I like to have spares, too, in case I get... errr... inspired, so I've hoarded stuff since spring or so. *g*

Oh my goodness — you are a lot more organised than me — although i did check, this morning, how many small advent gifts I had for the family advent calendar :) Answer is about 12 so some shopping yet to do!

I've got the same problem with the little surprise boxes — 105 are already done, but only about 80 or so are filled. I've run out of candy and small items that would fit into a folded toiled roll. *g*

My plan for this year´s Christmas baking; eight sorts of cookies, and only a few of each. No one here wants cookies save for the young ones, and they only like Vanillekipferl and cookies with jam. I think one kilo flour will do. But with your baking list you will need a pack mule to get all the ingredients to your home!

As I mentioned in my reply to [livejournal.com profile] elwenlj above, I've already bought almost everything, bit by bit. My friend Elise will contribute the margarine and the eggs, Evie will bring the confectioner's sugar and Eenie the crystallized ginger and the Mokkaböhnchen (assuming she finds any as they've vanished from Auchan), but other than that, I'm ready to start. In fact, I might make the Schachbrettkekse right tomorrow; those are the most complicated ones, and I won't have the time to bake early next week, so I can rest (from baking anyway) before I attack the next ones.

I think it is lovely that you bake for your family and friends.
