The good, the bad and the unpleasant
Jun. 27th, 2022 08:27 pmLet's start with the good: unexpectedly enough I've managed to do the rest of the Velcro work, so the match-the-colour page is basically finished - save for the seaming, but that can't be done before the corresponding page (the one it will be stitched together) is also done.
The bad: after a break of three blissful weeks of peace and quiet, my digestion is acting up again. Having the runs is not fun... to put it mildly.
The unpleasant: we had our bi-weekly cleaning day. I hate cleaning. Also, Mum is upset because the cleaning lady has raised her prices without telling it straightforward in advance. Mum doesn't have any problems with the raised prices - the poor woman has to live, too, and this is her only income - she'd just have liked to have a warning. She doesn't react well to the unexpected; but again, neither do I, and I'm 24 years younger.
Little Emma had her 3rd birthday yesterday. I tried to call the family (belatedly), but nobody answered the phone. They're probably having a garden party or whatnot. So I've sent an e-mail and will try again tomorrow. We still haven't seen the kid in flesh since she was ten months old or so. :(

Date: 2022-06-28 10:37 am (UTC)I know what you mean about unexpected price increases — our kitchen blew out a little but the man in charge (who has done work for us for 20 years) warned us at the start that it might, what with everything happening in the world, and we expected it anyway. On the other hand, going to the supermarket or petrol station at the minute... {shakes head}
