An eventful day
Jun. 10th, 2022 06:50 pmSo, we woke up today to no Internet and no telly, either (since the provider has tied it in with the internet - what a grand idea!). Mum was understandably pissed. I called Vodafone and the automated message told me that yes, in my area there's a technical problem indeed, but they're already working on it and will be done by 7pm, tops. I wasn't particularly worried about that, as I knew from past experience that they always give a deadline that allows them to deal with all possible problems that might rear their ugly heads during the fixing.
And indeed, intenet connection was restored about 2 hours later, and another hour later the telly worked again. The promised text message about the repairs being done arrived to my phone another our and a half later. *g*
I went to the hairdresser's today because I wanted to look civilized on our concert on Sunday. On the way there I visited a craft shop and the Müller's drugstore that also sells craft supplies. I spent some money on those, which always lifts my spirits. ;) ((*))
We also had the last choir practice today, together with the Oldies, as we're going to have a shared concert. It was lovely, and my friend Eenie gave me a lift to Lidl afterwards, so I could do my food shopping. Granted, I had to haul the bags home alone afterwards, but the distance is short, and that lift saved me a lot of time.
All this didn't leave me a lot of crafting time, so I gave the quiet book a break and worked a bit on the fish ornament that was originally planned as the central motif of the deep sea page but proved too big. I'm quite pleased with the design and the colours that I've chosen - I hope the end results will be equally pleasing. Currently I'm trying to figure out how to make it open and close its mouth with the help of press studs that would also serve as its teeth.
Now it's raining like crazy, while there's also bright sunshine at the same time. We had a saying in Transylvania for things like that: "The Devil is beating his wife." I just hope the balcony won't be leaking again. *sigh*
((*)) In case any crafty people are interested, I bought sparkly felt sheets, which I didn't really need but saw for the first time ever and just couldn't resist. I also bought a pad of breath-takingly beautiful Indian handmade natural papers in deep browns and golds, 20 sheets, each with a different pattern and texture. And I also bought a package of sparkly, self-adhesive decorative crfystals, 64 pieces in 4 different colours, which I also don't need at the moment, but which were too pretty to resist.
