So, we woke up today to no Internet and no telly, either (since the provider has tied it in with the internet - what a grand idea!). Mum was understandably pissed. I called Vodafone and the automated message told me that yes, in my area there's a technical problem indeed, but they're already working on it and will be done by 7pm, tops. I wasn't particularly worried about that, as I knew from past experience that they always give a deadline that allows them to deal with all possible problems that might rear their ugly heads during the fixing.

And indeed, intenet connection was restored about 2 hours later, and another hour later the telly worked again. The promised text message about the repairs being done arrived to my phone another our and a half later. *g*

I went to the hairdresser's today because I wanted to look civilized on our concert on Sunday. On the way there I visited a craft shop and the Müller's drugstore that also sells craft supplies. I spent some money on those, which always lifts my spirits. ;) ((*))

We also had the last choir practice today, together with the Oldies, as we're going to have a shared concert. It was lovely, and my friend Eenie gave me a lift to Lidl afterwards, so I could do my food shopping. Granted, I had to haul the bags home alone afterwards, but the distance is short, and that lift saved me a lot of time.

All this didn't leave me a lot of crafting time, so I gave the quiet book a break and worked a bit on the fish ornament that was originally planned as the central motif of the deep sea page but proved too big. I'm quite pleased with the design and the colours that I've chosen - I hope the end results will be equally pleasing. Currently I'm trying to figure out how to make it open and close its mouth with the help of press studs that would also serve as its teeth.

Now it's raining like crazy, while there's also bright sunshine at the same time. We had a saying in Transylvania for things like that: "The Devil is beating his wife." I just hope the balcony won't be leaking again. *sigh*

((*)) In case any crafty people are interested, I bought sparkly felt sheets, which I didn't really need but saw for the first time ever and just couldn't resist. I also bought a pad of breath-takingly beautiful Indian handmade natural papers in deep browns and golds, 20 sheets, each with a different pattern and texture. And I also bought a package of sparkly, self-adhesive decorative crfystals, 64 pieces in 4 different colours, which I also don't need at the moment, but which were too pretty to resist.

I am really glad to know you are able to have a concert with your choir.

I'm glad, too, that the TV and internet were not down for long, especially as I know your Mum is very fond of TV.

Oh, I love handmade paper. The Indian paper sounds gorgeous and the other craft items too pretty to resist. I’ve given up on hairdressers; I literally buzz my hair on the widest hair clipper setting (8mm I think). I began during lockdown when we couldn’t visit hairdressers, and honestly I don’t hate it. I used to buzzcut my hair in my exciting twenties, but never imagined I would do it again. On the widest setting it just looks a bit like a pixie cut. It’s surprisingly not awful.

Glad things are working again. Things like that falling out remind me how dependent we are on internet and TV, haha!

oooh, you're civilized now. Good for you.

BTW, 'need' is relative. Sometimes some good shopping is what's called for.

I once had a small pack of those Indian papers in dark green and red, with gold embellishment. They got very heavily used for Christmas cards and I don't think I threw one scrap away. Browns and golds sound beautiful.

There is a good chance that someone might record the concert. If they do, I'll give you the link.

Indian papers are a thing of beauty. I once made an explosion box for my friend Evie, using the blue and gold ones. Here are a few photos:

Indeed, we are! To think that when I was young a mechanical typewriter was the peak of technology...

I don't have a hair clipper, I'm afraid. And my hair is very, very thin — twice or thrice a year, usually before important events, I have to ask the help of a professional to make it look as if I actually had hair. *g*

She is, but that's small wonder. Her eyes have become too week to read more than what is absolutely necessary (which, in her case, are the bills), so books and crossword puzzles, both of which she once loved, are no longer an option.

Hurrah for the choir concert! And how nice that the two choirs will perform together. If they do get a recording, I would love to view it. Being without the internet or computer for any length of time sucks. I'm way too dependent on it for entertainment.
