Since today promised to be a fairly quiet day I did some baking and decorating. I've iced the Nutella bunnies and baked orange-butter biscuits in the shapes of little tea cups, complete with saucers. Now, decorating those will be a real challenge but I'm not planning anything else tomorrow.

I've also finished the castle puzzle pages, which is a relief, as they included 36 individual pieces of Velcro I had to sew on. My fingertips were truly grateful for the dough kneading today - it was like a therapy for them. Soft, smooth... aaah!

In any case, I've more or less planned out the corresponding pages, which will also be the back cover of the quiet books. Mostly it has to do with Eeyore and balloons, since both little boys find Eeyore irresistible. *g* I'm not entirely sure about the design yet. Either the balloons will be reattachable (more Velcro - *groan*) or Eeyore will be able to move horizontally across the page with the help of a string or rubber band. I've done something similar with an airplane on my very first quiet book, only that that moved vertically, of course. In that case, however, I haven't figured out yet what to do with the balloons.

Ah, well, I'll think of something eventually. But in the next week and a half it will be baking time. Aside from the biscuits I'm planning to make a Spiegeleikuchen for ourselves, as well as a yeast plait with candied fruit, raisins and almond flakes. And I'll have to prepare the traditional Easter ham too. I've used this recipe with cumin and garlic for decades, literally. It's very yummy.

So yeah, some progress, still a lot to do. But at least baking is something I truly enjoy. And some people are really looking forward to their cookie gift. :)

Gosh you go all-out! I feel a little lame because I don't do a single thing for Easter. :D

I find baking very relaxing. Always have. Besides, this is the most practical gift I can give: other people don't have to bake (since they're busy enough with children and grandchildren), and the cookies get eaten instead of collecting dust on some shelf like so many other gifts do.

That's true. I do some baking for Christmas for that very reason, even though I don't eat cookies. But it's a special thing to give that most people do appreciate.

Unfortunately for my not-so-girlish figure, I also like to eat cookies. 🤭

If you give Eyore his stick house you could have him 'walk' inside with your string. (Eeyore is my favourite character too.)

Drat, the idea never occurred to me! Of course, the 18cm by 18cm page might have been too small for a house, too, anyway. Eeyore will have to do with three enormous balloons, a cute cloud and a pretty flower in some grass now.

Your baking sound so good. I am about to make shaped plain biscuits this afternoon for the Messy Church children to decorate — I found a donkey shaped cutter for the Palm Sunday story :)

I must take a picture of my collection! And of the donkeys — I thought the legs might be too thin and burn but they seem to be okay.

I'll try to take a photo, assuming the mini cooperates — it's in German, after all, from an old issue of Kochen und Küche.

I love Eeyore too. When I was a little kid I always wanted to hug him and cheer him up. Come to think of it in a weird way that impulse may relate to my House crush.

Sewing velcro - ugh, not a joy. Your baking products sound delicious - always. I bought our Easter treats from the store and they are almost gone and Easter is not here yet, lol. Lucky for me this will be the last "food" holiday, so I can try and stick to my diet from now on. IF I don't post before Sunday, hope you and your Mum have a happy Easter.
