Since today promised to be a fairly quiet day I did some baking and decorating. I've iced the Nutella bunnies and baked orange-butter biscuits in the shapes of little tea cups, complete with saucers. Now, decorating those will be a real challenge but I'm not planning anything else tomorrow.

I've also finished the castle puzzle pages, which is a relief, as they included 36 individual pieces of Velcro I had to sew on. My fingertips were truly grateful for the dough kneading today - it was like a therapy for them. Soft, smooth... aaah!

In any case, I've more or less planned out the corresponding pages, which will also be the back cover of the quiet books. Mostly it has to do with Eeyore and balloons, since both little boys find Eeyore irresistible. *g* I'm not entirely sure about the design yet. Either the balloons will be reattachable (more Velcro - *groan*) or Eeyore will be able to move horizontally across the page with the help of a string or rubber band. I've done something similar with an airplane on my very first quiet book, only that that moved vertically, of course. In that case, however, I haven't figured out yet what to do with the balloons.

Ah, well, I'll think of something eventually. But in the next week and a half it will be baking time. Aside from the biscuits I'm planning to make a Spiegeleikuchen for ourselves, as well as a yeast plait with candied fruit, raisins and almond flakes. And I'll have to prepare the traditional Easter ham too. I've used this recipe with cumin and garlic for decades, literally. It's very yummy.

So yeah, some progress, still a lot to do. But at least baking is something I truly enjoy. And some people are really looking forward to their cookie gift. :)
