Not that we'd celebrate it in any particular way, but it is, yeah.

I celebrated it with writing a couple of pages for Timescapes, Chapter 19. I also typed up the first half of the finished Chapter 18. If I keep up the momentum for the next two or three days, I might even post the chapter still in this year. That would be neat.

Crafting-wise I decided to make little girls' handbags for the three granddaughters of my friend Elise. They're gonna be like these:

Just from differently patterned sheets of felt and with a slightly modified design. I'll keep them as Easter gifts, most likely, but I feel like sewing something for a change, and these are very easily made. I've already cut out the basic design, the rest is lots of blanket stitches in front of the telly. *g*

Not much else happened today. I tried to make lunch that won't upset our stomachs and seem to have succeeded, although I don't want to declare victory too early. God, I hate it that nowadays I always have to consider whether we'll be able to eat what I'd like to cook. It isn't so that we'd eat fatty or spicy or otherwise heavy food - and there's simply no pattern to the whole thing. So: either Covid, or side effects of the vaccine, or stress-related - or all three together.

The funny thing is that we both have it. That is, Mum's had a weak stomach for a couple of decades by now, but it happened on random intervals, not all the time. Grandma before her was the same. Me, though, I never had such problems. Perhaps I'm getting old and the curse of the Borsoviczky women has caught up with me, too?

Those bags will be a great present, little girls love to have their own pocketbooks!

I'm afraid age definitely has an effect on gastro-intestinal sensitivities. As does stress. I have to be much more careful about what I eat than I used to be. It's very irritating. And it seems like each year the list of safe foods shrinks! I hope you both start to feel better.

So do I, honestly! I'm a Hobbit when it comes to eating — this is a real punishment for me!

What a shame your tummy is being so badly behaved. The little bags are going to be a lovely gift.

I have often felt sorry for the mothers of Bethlehem — there must have been maybe 30 or even 40 families affected. I used a story from the Australian Lost Sheep group in church on Holt Innocents Day a few years ago, called 'Jesus was a Refugee', in which the 8 or 9 year old Jesus says that when the family go to visit his aunts and uncles in Bethlehem there are no boys his age for him to play with, and some of them always seem sad to see him, even though they love him...

The little bags are so cute! For the stomach problmes, have you tried ginger pills? They can help a lot with stomach problems and in a natural way!

I never heard of them, although I do like to chew on candied ginger from time to time. I'll see if I can get the pills here.

That they are. Especially for us, Hobbits. We're made to eat and to eat well, after all.

I guess our stomachs do get more sensitive when we get older.
I know I'll have spaghetti with tomato sauce for lunch today so I took a anti-acid pill in advance. ;-)

That is certainly true. It seems that on Mum's side the women start having weak stomachs after reaching the 60th landmark — although stress, vaccination and Covid probably don't help with it.

One of the things I like about small sewing projects is that they don't clutter up your surroundings. They fit in a small bag or box and can be tidied up quickly. Paper crafting seems to take up yards and yards of space.

Exactly! And small sewing projects can be done in front of the telly, too — another advantage!

I think those bags will be great gifts for little ladies. It is indeed frustrating when you have to change your menue plan the moment you get older. Same here, and I am not happy about it.

It is a good thing that little ladies like kitsch. That way I can get rid of felt sheets I don't like but are included in certain sets. *g*
