WTF, Deamwidth?

I've got used to the fact that the importer refused to import my journal comments every other week. After a few turns they came through, even if delayed, and since I imported my LJ on a weekly basis, it was only a matter of time.

But as from yesterday, the importer simply hasn't worked. I've gave it several tries, and each time I got error messages, telling me that it tried to connect to the server too many times. The odd part is, I can post and comment on DW just fine (although basically I only do so on the get_knitted comm), and the importer accepts my password, so what's the problem?

Considering that I use DW as a back-up, should something happen to LJ, at the moment I'm not feeling very optimistic...

I created a DW account to crosspost, too, should LJ go belly-up one day, but haven´t used it for a long time. Problem is I´d have to post on DW, but I always forget to do so!

Theoretically, importing your LJ to DW ought to work... except, as you see, if it doesn't. Usually it does, though. I import my LJ every Saturday... if I can, that is.

Sounds more like a computer problem, you should delete your cookies and history as well probably.

How do I do that? And how do I get my cookies and saved passwords and stuff back again?

I'm on my desktop PC, actually; and why don't I want cookies? Aren't they the things that keep your saved passwords and stuff? Sorry, I'm such a computer illiterate still...

I decided a long time ago that I really couldn't be bothered with DW I'm afraid. I sometimes think this was a good decision.

I'm not thrilled with DW either, I do a cut and paste thing with all my LJ entries but I've had a much harder time making friends there than here.

Same here. I won't be happy to switch to cut and paste, as it won't save my LJ comments, but if nothing else helps...

I use both DW and LJ, but the import function from DW to LJ has not worked for some time. Apparently, LJ assumes you are untrustworthy. I wonder if it's started working the other way around too? I have got used to using copy and paste.

I'll have to do that if nothing else helps, but that would mean not to be able to save my LJ comments, which sucks. 🤬
