My newest pencil holders
Jul. 26th, 2020 05:49 pmLast week we had tomato soup, which means new tin cans to play with. Usually, I make pencil holders, with the help of corrugated paper, felt and/or ribbons and other small embellishments. Numbers 16 and 17 were made using purple decor foam, fluffy white fabric (something synthetic, no idea what it is but this was the stuff I made the white teddy bears from), craft ribbons and the thin decorative... things
elwenlj gifted upon me.

Cute, aren't they? The green rubber rings will be removed as soon as the glue had enough time to dry. The white stuff was in fairly small pieces, so I had to jigsaw them together on the back of the tin, but I've managed to do it so well that the lines are barely visible. Yay!
Other than that, I wrote about 3 pages for Chapter 17 of "Magic Mirror", cooked lunch (fried fish fillets with parsley potatoes and a mixed salad; we had leftover soup from yesterday), wrote e-mail to all friends whose name is Anna (it's the day of St. Anna) and gave small gifts (a cherry stone pillow, a patchwork card and some pretty paper tissues) our neighbour lady, who's also called Anna.
Mum and I rang her bell, stood in distance from the door and handed over the things in a gift bag. She loved her gifts and gave us some cake and peaches in exchange. We usually give each other from the cakes and cookies we back, and as they have a garden somewhere, we sometimes get a bit of fruit from her. Good neighbourhood is a blessing!
