Chapter 2 of the Elfhelm story is posted to the TFF archive - practically trivia-free and with barely any footnotes, I swear!

Elfhelm has several fairly unpleasants conversations and learns what the King wants of him.)

Also, I started this year's Advent Calendar, The Young Knights

It has Boromir, Faramir, Prince Adrahil, young Lord Herumor of Halabor and many, many other peoples. And nobody will die this time, honest. *g*

Enjoy, and feed the muse if you like what you see.

Note Other than that, Yahell just crashed on me completely. I hope it's only temporary...

It's a short vignette, belonging to my Sons of Gondor arc. The fic is called Bruises and features a young child, who'll become a great hero one day. I won't tell who the hero is - the Edhellond crowd knows anyway, but I won't spoilt the guessing joy for others in advance.

Have fun, and should you like what you are reading, please feed the muse a bit. She's having a hard time as it is.

You can find it either on ff.net:

or in the Stories of Arda archive, right on the Just In page.

Also, I've finally updated the Alternate Caretaker story. Poor Brigid, my wonderful Voyager beta, has sent me the beta-ed 15th chapter ages ago, but with all that stress lately, I just didn't came around to make the necessary corrections.

Anyway, now they are done and the new chapter posted to FF.Net:

While Janeway fans might forgive me after having read this, maybe the Neelix fans will want to lynch me now. *g*

I've been following a discussion on the Henneth-Annun list about the legal questions of kingship in Gondor. It was an interesting one - discussions like this are the reason I still haven't unsubbed from that list, actually.

Aside from interesting details that I have saved (so that I won't have to search for them later myself), it made me think about the effect the movies made on me.

Boromir

Boromir

If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Boromir, Man of Gondor, proud heir to the Steward Denethor II, and elder brother of Faramir.

In the movie, I am played by Sean Bean.

Who would you be?

Not exactly a surprise, is it?

Cross-posting, sorry about it, etc.

"Descending to Darkness" has been updated:
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1355525&chapter=4

Boromir and Aragorn are, surprisingly, in agreement, Legolas is in a slightly better mood, the hobbits are agitated, and Gandalf finally manages to open the doors of Moria - not a second too early.

It's a rather slowly-building story, most people probably find it boring, but I have great delight in telling it, so I don't really care. I've always had a strong tendency to go into details and I enjoy it, so I thought what the heck? Even if just a few people like it, at least I had my fun. * shrugs*
