I'm sure you've already realized that I'm a bit addicted to pretty craft paper. One of my ex-collegues - a scrapbooking person of near-professional level - calls it paper love. It is a somewhat costly addiction, but it gives one great delight.

So I went to the Savoy Park shopping centre today and finally found the tiny little craft and gift shop open. Which was important, as I was about to run out of broad double-sided tape, and one can't get it in the Auchan supermarket. They've got a so-called "creative aisle", but the offer of items is fairly random and rarely what I'd personally need.

Except of scrapbook paper, that is. They keep a small selection of Stamperia papers, and while they usually aren't what I'm specifically looking for, they are always pretty. And expensive. But hard to resist. So I bought four pieces today, only one of which will be directly usable for my baby books. The rest is simply beautiful. One has a lavender theme, another one a vintage theme and the third one is like Japanese silk paintings, just on paper. They are simply amazing, and I decided that I deserve a gift for having put up with the whole situation as well as with the back pain (which is still there, FYI and will probably remain for another three or four weeks, based on experience). So I bought them, together with the one for the baby book (with a pattern of little blue hearts), and Mum was in complete agreement. *g*

Other than that, I worked a bit on the first baby book, baked financiers (there were leftover egg whites again) and routinely fell asleep in front of the telly. I'll try to do some typing up now; there's so little left of the translation that needs to be transcribed, but the closer I get to the end, the harder is to force myself to work on it. *sigh*

There are worse addictions, though...

There's something so satisfying about those types of papers. I can't buy them, because I find them too gorgeous to cut up!

My heart bleeds every time, too. But there's always the perfect project for which I am willing to sacrifice them. ;)

I love paper, too. I'm waiting to get to the bookstore to buy the annual FLOW book for paper lovers!

It's a 300 page annual book put out by the FLOW magazine for paper lovers. They're chock full of writing papers, gift papers, gift tags, do-it yourself envelopes and activites, stickers, and little surprise items.

The link takes you to FLOW magazine's book page, where you can see some of the past books.
They're expensive, but it's my annual treat to myself! I don't subscribe to the magazine itself, I only buy the book once a year.

There are some very pretty papers there indeed. I can understand why do you treat yourself with something like this. :)
I for myself prefer buying my papers as loose sheets; it is perhaps more expensive that way, but in paper sets (and I do have quite a few of those as well) there are always a number of patterns that I don't like, and it's always such a pain to bring up any useful idea about what to do with them. That's why the patchwork cards were a life-saver. ;)

I'll try to Google them. I don't think my iPad mini would be up to reproduce those gorgeous colours.

I have some sheets of paper that I love so much, I don't want to cut into them. So I totally understand the need to have yummy papers.

I'm not addicted to pretty paper per se, although, I do like patterned and floral drawer liners. So, I guess that is similar. They can be very expensive, but I treat myself.

Sometimes you just have to be good to yourself. Other people rarely come to the idea. *g*
