Today I met with my lovely colleague E. and delivered the Doll House quiet book I've made for her granddaughters in seven or so months. For newcomers who don't know what I'm talking about, detailed photos can be viewed here. Both E. and her hubby were delighted, and they told me that a third grandkid is on its way and is expected in October - this time from the side of their son.

I'd have had to go to school anyway, to fetch the eggsies I've ordered, and E.'s hubby is in every day, using the golden opportunity to update and maintain the computer network, now that no pesky teachers are in the way who want to actually use those computers (he's the system manager of the school). So E. decided to come in, too, just to receive the quiet book (otherwise hubby could have taken it home), and we had a short, happy conversation (in masks and gloves and all that). I was deliriously happy. This is the first time I saw any of my favourite colleagues in person since, I dunno, February perhaps?

I saw some other people, too, which was also nice, did the grocery shopping and discovered that the newspaper shop hasn't, in fact, closed for good, so I got my German TV programme, after all! Also, the idiotic Vodafone e-mail has finally arrived - only a week to late, but for that twice - and I'm sure it hasn't anything to do with me, as I never used that phone line that came with the TV and internet package. I still saved the letter to my PC, just in case the idiots have problems later. Ah, well.

So, it was a very good day, although a bit exhausting, and the tomato soup I managed to make in-between turned out very yummy, too.

Thank you. :) It was about the best day since the quarantine started. And in the afternoon A. (another favourite colleague) called, too, so it was perfect.

Indeed. And very precious, in these days of isolation.

I am so glad you have been able to have a good day. That book is so lovely I am sure it will become an heirloom handed down.

I'm so happy to hear about the shop not closing. It's good to hear of a business surviving these days.

Yes, and for some of them there isn't even a replacement. I don't know where I'd get my German magazines in this city if the shop had closed.

I feel you about colleagues! We started working from the office again since Monday but we are only going there 2 or 3 days a week. So I saw one of my favourite colleagues yesterday but I won't see the other one for long as I'm working Monday, Wednesday and Friday and she's working Tuesday and Thursday :-(

I was even happy to briefly met one of the music teachers who used to get on my nerves for years! *g*

There ought to be those sometimes, rare though they are.
