Which was overdue, and certainly good for the soil and for washing away all that dust. Unfortunately, the leaking balcony capitulated again. It has been worse and it will be again, I'm sure, but it's ridiculous that we have to be scared every time it rains. *sigh*

Nonetheless, I was busy again. In the morning, I made these two cards:

Then Mum and I cooked lunch: she made the potato soup, I made the stuffed chicken (well, the upper legs of a chicken anyway). The good thing with stuffed chicken is that you can use up the days-old rolls. It was yummy.

I also did some translation (only one short chapter left) and typed up some of what I'd translated earlier. I also had two long phone chats with my lovely young(er) (ex)colleagues. So it was a good day, despite the dratted leakage.

Ooh ... tapes and record players. So old-fashioned. ;-)

And a misspelled German word... *g*

Oha ... I didn't even notice that! ;-)

There were quite a number of misspelt words on that sheet, both German and English ones. I can't tell about the Spanish ones, obviously...

What are the cards for?

They haven't any actual purpose yet. I had too much scrap paper and found this idea to put them to good use - and I enjoy the work. I'll probably give them away as gifts once some semblance of normalcy returns to our lives.

We've had a lot of rain today, too - after we had a bad leak about 18 months ago heavy rain always makes me a bit edgy, even though it has been repaired, so I sympathise with you and your leaking balcony.

This dratted thing has been repaired twice already. They just can't really find where the water comes in.

Sorry to hear you are dealing with that old problem again.

I've given up hope that it will go away any time soon. :((
At least it was just a bit of leakage this time.

That stinks about the balcony.

Very much so. At least it was only a small leak this time.

Yeah, it's bloody annoying. But since it hasn't been repaired since last time we can't really complain...

I've never had plain potato soup but I do like making potato and leek soup.

TBH, I don't like potato soup at all. But we wanted something different for a change, and I didn't feel up to the challenge to make the tomato soup, since I had to make the rest of our lunch anyway.

Oh man, yeah, when I saw the header of "it rained today" I was already thinking of your balcony. What a neverending story. At least you got some good stuff done as well, other than being annoyed by the balcony. The cards look great!

Thanks. They are great fun to make.

This balcony will be the death of me one day. Of course, the janitor couldn't organize his buddy to come and try repairing it (because of the whole situation), so it really was just a matter of time.

Yeah, unfortunately. Hopefully the next repair attempt, whenever it happens, will be more successful than past ones

It's been raining here too, for the first time this month. It's definitely the best for the environment, although the slight showers we have been getting aren't exactly enough, but better than nothing.

Cute cards! I have to point out that it should be "faSzinierend" on the right side, meaning there is an "s" missing in the middle of the word.

Homemade potato soup is soooo good!

Yeah, I know how faszinierend is spelled. I'm a language teacher by trade - though a retired one. *g*
The sheet I took the texts from is full of such mistakes - intentionally, I guess, as the paper sets are actually German-made.

I don't really like potato soup myself, but Mum does, and one has to compromise. ;)

I'm not offended. :) I had to double-check the word first, too (it's one I'm very familiar with because of Mr. Spock); and then I also found such words as childhoud and knutseln and the likes, so I realized it had to be intentional. *g*

I feel for you on your balcony leakage. We have a carport that floods every time it rains. So much so, that there are stepping stones in the carport leading up to the house entrance and a poorly made concrete ramp in front of the house door. Never have I lived in a house with such an arrangement. However, flooding outside is one thing. It would absolutely drive me up the wall to have a continual leakage inside! They really should give you another apartment that stays dry. Love the new cards, and the potato soup and stuffed chicken sound delicious, wish I was having that for dinner :0)

We actually own our apartment; we've bought it some 30 years ago, so for good or bad, we're stuck with it. Fortunately, it's just the balcony that's leaking, although it's still annoying. The janitor promised to find someone who'd paint it with some special paint that would keep the water out, but then the coronavirus happened...
