Blessed Easter, everyone!

I hope you all had a peaceful and pleasant day, as far as it is possible in these times.
We had a somewhat religious morning, as we first watched the Evangelsicher Ostergottesdienst on German tv, and then the High Mass with the archbishop of Esztergom on Hungarian tv. I definitely preferred the former one, although the archbishop wasn't that bad, either. I like the way he celebrates Mass.
Mum volunteered to cook today, so I could do some translations (not enough by far, but at least some), talked to my cousin's wife on the phone and lazed around a bit. Not a very productive day, but it's Easter Sunday, after all, righ?

Date: 2020-04-12 09:02 pm (UTC)I watched a service from Bangor cathedral on the BBC - the readings and prayers were filmed in the empty building and the hymns were from a previous Easter service recorded there - it was a good service.
I miss our Easter Tree at church. I think I have a picture somewhere - I must look!

Date: 2020-04-13 06:25 am (UTC)Easter was a blessed day for us in more ways than one. The predicted storm with the likelihood of damaging winds, hail and tornadoes was downgraded from an enhanced to a marginal risk, a load off my mind! In actuality, we had brisk but not gusty, winds ( a delight) and one or two heavy downpours. For Easter lunch and dinner, we had shrimp stew over rice, (courtesy of the saved freezer contents) with crackers instead of French bread, served on my parent's Lenox china. The service plate of the china is off-white with a wide pastel, grey-blue band around the rim, a perfect color for Easter. The table centerpiece was simple, a lone Gerber daisy from the garden in a vase, with a printed Happy Easter picture on an easel --- all make do. It was just me, Ryan and Bobby at the table. We sent Happy Easter texts to the rest of the family instead of dining together since we are all social distancing.
Glad you and your Mum had a quiet, relaxing Easter Sunday.
Peace and goodwill,
Mira

Date: 2020-04-14 03:00 am (UTC)Pom jumped up, first on my lap, then on TODS's, and watched the Mass with us. He was very quiet, as if to say, "I am a good and holy cat!" Then he fell asleep during the homily.
Later I made a turkey and we had some very nice wine with it. We also talked to our parents on the phone--they are both in assisted living, both in lockdown because of the virus.
