We had a nice and quite day. Mum arranged her paper serviette collection according to topic all afternoon - like Christmas, Easter, teddies, coffee, flowers and the likes. I did some translating, both for me and for the supposedly paid job, had two long, nice phone chats and watched three episodes of "Blood Ties". We didn't even cook today, having enough leftovers to bring us through lunch. And we even slept in.

Tomorrow, though, will be hunting day, so I think I'll go to bed earlier tonight.

Let's hope I'll be able to fall asleep two hours earlier than usual. ;)

Good luck! I got most things today, though no flour or canned corn (and some things I forgot to put on the grocery list but that's on me)

No flour? That's serious!

Fortunately I still have some left but they didn't even have the fancy expensive organic flour or some hipster flour from chia seeds or whatever. Only one left was rice flour but that was way too expensive for me to buy it as a shot in the dark. I'm kinda planning to read up on baking with rice flour though since it's the one flour that is always there.

Perhaps because it's so awful that no-one wants to buy it? ;))

Haha, maybe! Sooner or later I feel like I will cave from curiosity if nothing else.

You do know that curiosity killed the cat, don't you?

Haha if I ever give in to curiosity I'll dutifully report! I have learned that it is used as gluten-free flour alternative, though only mixed with other flours but that obviously wouldn't be of interest to my purposes.

Studied online and was able to go to an easter party but due to the virus I am unable to practise in workplaces, not to mention the staff do not have the time at the moment. I hope this ends soon, the sooner the better.

Amen indeed. How that can happen is however another matter entirely, as the proverb goes "one can talk about mixing tulips and roses but it is not easy to do it".

Are these serviettes ones she's purchased, or gotten at different events/restaurants?

Mostly purchased. But when we were out to some café or other, and they had a pretty serviette, she never used it. Instead, she took it home.

Today, the crowd at Lidl was positively frightening - and that around 8:40 in the morning! It's always the same when the shops are closed for a holiday; people suddenly become afraid of starving.

Now I have an image of you arriving at the shop, wearing tweeds and wellingtons, with a shotgun over your shoulder. "You want the last bag of flour in the shop? Absolutely, madam. Let me wrap that for you."

Sigh. I am buying two weeks worth of groceries at a time. I had my refrigerator completely stocked with fresh items, including two raw roasts, a cooked flank steak, cooked pork loin, three 18 count cartons of fresh eggs plus some cut fruit and other things. Last night we had a severe thunderstorm which knocked out our power. It was off for over 10 hours, so I lost EVERYTHING in the refrigerator. Not too mention, we sat in the dark totally bored. I am not going to order groceries and re-stock yet, as there is a worse storm predicted on Easter Sunday and I am worried the power will go out again. I was lucky last grocery order in that most of the items on my list were on the shelves. But it is a crap shoot each time, so who knows what I will be able to replace. Today, like your day was mostly quiet, the calm before the storm.

Oh dear, that is horrible! It would have been hard under normal circumstances, but it is magnitudes worse now. I am truly sorry about it. *hugs*

Mum says she's sorry, too.
