Not that I'm complaining or whatnot. I like being busy... to a certain extent.
Anyway, my day started with the blind lady from the opposite flat ringing us up shortly after 9 o'clock (needless to say we were still zombie-walking around the flat in our night shifts) because she wanted to use our phone. I can understand that - hers had died on her yesterday, she doesn't have a mobile phone and she orders everything through the phone, so she needs it. Still, considering that all kinds of delivery people are going in and out of her flat, I was a mite concerned. But we called the phone company, organized things, and the repair people arrived a few hours later and fixed her phone.
After breakfast I translated almost 3 pages from the Prologue of "The Billion Year Voyage". Go me!
Then I decided to try
curiouswombat's idea of a ginger-carrot soup and went for it. This is the result:

Mine is probably a lot less spicy - Mum can't eat spicy food, so I added some cooking cream to it, and we don't even have chili in the house, dried or otherwise - but we liked it and decided to make it in the future semi-regularly. We devoured yesterday's tart as the second part of our lunch.
Then I started making some dolls' clothes (extras for the doll house), when the publisher guy phoned that he's in our area and would like to drop in the book I'm supposed to translate. It took him some time to find the house (it's only 10-storey-high, after all), as he had the wrong house number (one of us is a fool, apparently), but in the end he did find it, and now I have the book. (More virus anxiety ensued as he wasn't wearing any protection - I wiped the book with wet wipes, just in case; managed not to ruin the cover, fortunately).
The book looks interesting enough: part adventure story for young teens, part puzzles and stuff. I've just finished translating the rules, I think the kiddies are gonna like it.
Now I'll attempt to translate some more of my actual ongoing chapter. Won't stand up too long, though, as I'll have to get up early tomorrow. Shopping day, yay!
