Originally, I hoped to make some decent headway with the transcribing job - I only have 6 pages left, after all! And I wanted to sew together the binding stripes of the doll house quiet book. Perhaps even start translating the next story.

Instead, I got up at ungoldy 6 o'clock (don't laugh at me, Spikey, for me it is an ungodly hour!) because I needed to go to the supermarket as we've practically run out of meat, and I wanted to get there when they opened, or not much later. When I did get there it was obvious that other people got the same idea...

I had to make two runs, to two different supermarkets because:
a) we don't have a car and I can't carry as much as I used to, and
b) because there are certain things I can only get in the one or the other supermarket.
Still, I made both runs within an hour and a half, not because I'm particularly athletic but because the supermarkets are within easy reach. Thank God for small favours.

When I got home, Mum and I did some cooking, which is always time-consuming because the kitchen is small, we keep hindering each other in making any decent progress, and Mum has slowed down considerably in recent years. But in the end we managed to do our respective parts and to have lunch at an acceptable time.

German TV has brought back my favourite programmes: Der Trödeltrupp and Zuhause im Glükc - both re-runs, of course, but I like to watch them, even though I've already seen them all at least twice. Today, however, I was so tired that I kept falling asleep. From that POV it is fortunate that I've already seen them at least twice, of course. *g*

And it's raining out there. The only positive aspect of the last couple of weeks was the nice weather - now even that is gone, and we can start fretting about the balcony again. As if the coronathingy weren't enough. *sigh*

The only good thing today was an e-mail I got from a young colleague (well, ex-colleague, technically, although I still consider myself part of our school). Her in-laws are publishers and are looking for someone who'd translate a children's book from German. If we can deal with the legalities so that I won't get in conflict with the tax office, I might be doing it. It would be fun. But I won't shoot myself in the head if it doesn't come together. I've got enough ways to occupy myself. Still, doing something different would be interesting.
