So, my heroic plan for today (since we stayed home all day) was to work a bit on the seaming of the last quiet book page, watch the re-run of the German TGBBO, and then do a lot of transcribing. Because I really, really want "The Sins of the Mothers" out of my hair at last.

Well, RTL2 thwarted my heroism. They brought back my favourite programme, Zuhause im Glück, which meant I spent the afternoon on the couch in front of the telly. from 12:45 to 8pm. With a short lunch break. I think my eyes are going to roll out of my skull, and my head has definitely taken on a square shape from staring at the screen all the time. Stupid of me, I know. But one of the episodes I never saw before, and I've missed the programme in recent weeks.

Ah, well. At least I managed to finish the last quiet book page, against all hope. Now comes the binding and the little extras, which will be a lot of work; but easy work, at least where the extras are concerned. The binding will be a real pain in the nether regions.

On panicky news, schools will really be closed from Monday on. I don't know what to think. On the one hand, it will be good for lessening the infection threat. On the other hand, who will look after all the kiddies, especially the small ones? Apparently, there will be distance teaching via Internet, but IMO that hardly works with lower primary classes. Not my problem, of course (thankfully), but I don't envy my colleagues. They'll have to go to school and do the distance teaching from there. I'm curious if it will work.

I really wish there were new episodes of Zuhause im Glück.

Yeah, will be interesting how the no school thing works out.

I sent a mass e-mail to the closest colleagues, asking them to tell me if it works at all. I hope some of them will answer and share the experience.

It was, actually. I'd just really like to finish the stupid transcribing job. This chapter is almost 20 pages long!

My favorite quote recently is "If we can look back in a month and say "we over-reacted", then that's the best possible outcome."

I wish we could. It doesn't look like that at the moment, though.

Have you seen the movie 'Twelve Monkeys"? It is scary how much this makes me think of that.

No, I haven't but a friend gave me a very detailled description once, on the bus to Vienna. *g*

All schools are on extended break here, which will include spring break. But after that, teaching will resume online. I'll be interested (also) to see how that works, especially for primary. I am also watching more TV than usual, staying at home can really be boring when you are forced to do it. At least, I am in a neighborhood that is pleasant for walking. Best of luck with the translation and book binding.

Frankly, I don't mind staying at home very much. I haven't had a big social life to begin with, and since I'm retired, the only places I go are the choir practices and the shops. Perhaps when all this is over I should try actually having a life.
