This is my amazing apple-frangipane tart:

The recipe is from Mary Berry, I only replaced the flaked almonds with caramelized almond shards. Let's hope it's as yummy as it looks, as I might have some guests tomorrow.

This is the original recipe, by the way.

The rest of the day was fairly exhausting, too. First I had choir practice with the Oldies - presumably the last one for a while, due to the coronavirus threat - then I had to do some grocery shopping. Then I typed up the last pages of Chapter 10 of "The Sins of the Mothers". Then this horribly verbose and long-winded insurance agent came and ruined half my afternoon. Then I did my baking, and now I'm going to watch the new episodes of "Forged in Fire". I think I've deserved it. *g*

Oh, I know the feeling. My one attempt at baking bread was interrupted by one of those type salesman. My dough rose four times because I could not get rid of him. (I think it was only supposed to rise once, or maybe twice - been too long to remember. The final result was a heavy brick doorstop that ended up in the trash.

My dad's choir practices have been cancelled as well now.

That cake looks very tasty. What kind of biscuits did you use? I'm not sure we have digestive biscuits here.

We don't have them, either. I bought the simplest Keksbröseln I could get and added one tablespoon of Semmelbröseln to 100 gr of them, for texture.

Too bad you didn't have the chance to throw it at his head.
