We got up what counts for us an ungodly early time because we'd decided that Mum would go to the early morning Mass for less exposure to possible germs. While she was in there, I went to do the first half of the shopping, namely dragging home some mineral water. We don't have a car, and as close as the Lidl supermarket is, I can't carry as much as I used to do. Hence the multiple shopping. I got some very nice tulips for a good price, too, and I bought them for Mum. It is international women's day, after all.

Then I fetched Mum from church and we went together to the Aldi supermarket to do the rest of the shopping. We were almost done when I discovered a neat little craft paper package, which I simply had to buy. As every craftperson can tell you, there is no such thing as too many supplies. Nope.

Coming home again, I started the gargantual task of seaming another quiet book page. This one was very tricky, as one side was just a millimetre or two smaller than the other one, which made the whole affair exceptionally unpleasant. I had to fix certain parts with double-sided tape, and let me tell you, sew through several layers of felt, seaming material and double-sided tape is hell on the fingers. I'll have to take a day off sewing to allow my fingertips to heal. Not even a thimble helped much.

When the sucker was done I wanted to solve some crossword puzzles to relax, but I fell asleep over them. Twice. Seeing that it was no good, I decided to gave my newly acquired craft supplies a closer look - and find the templates and instructions for making very cute, very easy bunny-shaped candy boxes! Since we've got an entire glass jar of candy we don't really like (we only bought it because the jar was so pretty), this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of it, solve the Easter gift problem and enjoy some crafts that go without pain. *g*

So far, I've made four boxes in about two hours and selected the papers for 16 more. We'll see how far the candy lasts.

In-between we had lunch (yay, leftovers!) and I watched some re-runs of "Forged in Fire". I'm on the best way to develop a serious addiction for that show. There are some episodes I've seen four or five times already, and I still enjoy them! Of course, the best ones are with Ben Abbott...

Anyway, in the end I had some serious words with myself about typing up another bit of "The Sins of the Mothers", and I did it. Two full pages! Yeah, right, slow like molasses. The closer I come to the end, the more I slow down. I don't know why. Ah, well...

Pictures about the bunny boxes will be posted when I've made a few more.

The tulips were a good idea, so Mum would come home and find them as a surprise?

That was the basic idea, yes, and it worked, too. She was literally shrieking with delight when she saw them. Tulips have always been her favourite flowers.
