Not a very productive day today, either concerning writing or crafting. We had extra practice with the Oldies, after which Mum and I planned a family outing.

Of course, we didn't leave when I originally wanted (somehow we never manage), so I spent about an hour with tearing up old flyers and stuff from trips we made back when we still went further than Austria. Actually, I was looking for a book of sheet music (found it eventually) and stumbled over these things that had been gathering dust in the book cabinet for at least eight years or so. Now I have a full waste paper basket (note to self: I need to take it to the selective container tomorrow) and a mild back-ache.

We went to the Allee shopping centre because Mum wanted to visit the new Lindt chocolate shop there. It is fantastic... and quite shockingly expensive, of course. However, the shopping centre is having its so-called coupon days, which means you can ask for coupons at the entrance, and in the participating shops you get everything 20% cheaper. We didn't know it in advance but were deliriously happy to learn about it. So we asked for a coupon, each, and bought our mutual Easter gifts right away, since these days only last until Sunday and it's doubtful that we'd get there again until then.

After that, we felt so good about the whole thing that we had lunch in the nearby market hall, so we didn't have to cook today, which is always a good thing, especially as it spares us the washing up as well. So, all in all, it was a success, even though the slow shuffling around with Mum always makes me so tired that I'm completely useless for the rest of the day. The afternoon is usually wasted with falling asleep in front of the telly.

That's exactly what happened today again, and I was a bit annoyed with myself, but I'll have to accept that this is the way of things now.

I have to admit I don't even particularly like Lindt chocolate.

I'm afraid I do. Especially the Lindor chocolate balls with their variety of delicious fillings. You can chose your favourites nowadays and pay by weight. We most love the caramel, cappuccino, milk chocolate and dark chocolate fillings, but you can get them in at least a dozen other ones. Yum!

I wouldn't be upset about it. It sounds like you needed a down day.

I did. But a down day would mean time to things I find important.

Don't know what to tell you. Don't sit down in front of the TV. Force yourself into another room and do stuff that you really aren't interested in doing at that moment. From where I'm standing, I'd rather have a down day.

Oh, I'd be very much interested in doing the writing and crafting stuff. I'm just too tired for it after a family outing, and so the tasks get delayed again and again... until it is time for them to be finished, and then there's real stress.

In and of itself, a day with extra singing practice topped off by a trip to a Lindt chocolate shop (sighs longingly) sounds like a lovely day!

What is it about walking slowly, shuffling, that is so tiring? It could be that prolonged walking yet not taking normal strides puts an unusual strain on the joints and muscles.
I say this because one night in Mexico we went to a market/fair on the marina boulevard. It was 1/2 mile in length, which does not sound very far, but we walked up one side from beginning to end, then walked back on the other side. It took three hours, and it was very crowded, so that all we could do was take small, shuffling steps. I was so tired and achy near the end, it made me feel pretty grouchy!

Oh! I almost forgot to say - at Christmas I buy two very large assortment packages of the Lindor chocolate balls. I put them in a big, red bowl which is decorated with snowflakes, and when we have our huge Christmas celebration for my crazy family, they have that huge bowl emptied by the day's end:) Everyone loves them. My mouth is watering.

I see from the photos of the Lindt shop there are many more varieties of the Lindor balls. The assortment packages I get have only four kiinds - the red, blue, gold, and black.

Yes, they are a great many sorts of them. Aside from the ones we actually bought there were some with champagne creme, coconut, hazelnut, lemon, white chocolate, mint and really dark chocolate fillings. Perhaps even more, I just can't remember at the moment.
You can get an overview of all here (https://www.lindtusa.com/lindor-flavors).

Yes, shuffling around is very exhausting. Plus supporting Mum, who's a fragile being, but still, when we walk together, I can't place my own (considerable) weight the way it would be really comfortable.

I forgot to add: once in a life I got a box of special Christmas ones, flavoured with cardamom and other Christmas spices. It was unbelievable - I never found them again. :(

Oh, my gosh. I had no idea there were so many varieties! And so many of them are really appealing to me.
The cardamom and Christmas spice one really sounds wonderful.

It was. Which is why it saddens me so much that I never found it again.

Back in the day you couldn't get Lindt chocolate in the U.S. so every time my dad travelled to Austria he's bring home tons of it for gifts for people. It's such good stuff. SO much better than Hershey's. You guys were so lucky to get coupons! :)

Bargains always make me happy too. You had a productive morning at least. I love having a good clear out. I always feel so righteous afterwards. :D

Yeah, me, too. And how often do we get to enjoy that feeling otherwise? *g*

I envy you with the Lindt choclolate shoppe! We can get a few varieties of Lindt chocolate in the grocery here. While I love the chocolate balls, my figure doesn't. So, I buy the 70% or 78% cocao chocolate bars and treat myself to a square every so often. I envy you on walking, too. I just healed from a broken bone in my foot and started back trying to walk my 30 minutes a day. Apparently, I wore the wrong type of shoes and developed tendonitis. It finally went away - yay. So, I added back in my 30 minutes of aerobic exercise and have now irritated my knee, which is painful and swollen. So, at the moment, both the walks and aerobics are once again out. And, of course, the weather today was perfection, perfect for getting out and exercising. Sorry for the rant, aging seems to exacerbate aches and pains. :o(

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear it about your foot! Mum's been struggling with her knee for at least a decade by now, with the result that we've slowed down extremely in whatever we do, especially walking. Which is really bad for my feet. I can walk briskly for quite some time, but when I shuffle around slowly or even stand in one place, my feet start swelling and shortly threafter look like little pillows. *sigh* Old age can be a pain, but the only way to prevent it is dying young, and that isn't such a good solution, either.

I don't like dark chocolate. At all. So I've accepted the fact that I'm to remain chubby for the rest of my days. ;)
