Aka the wardrobe. Some details still need to be added, but this is what it will basically look like. On the left, with the curtain closed, on the right with it up, showing day and night scenes behind the window. The curtain can actually be pulled to either side, so that the kiddies can decide whether they wanted to have day or night in the doll house.

Needless to say that I had to redo the day scene in the window because the first tree looked quite ugly, but it is done at least.

And then I baked a very quick and easy cherry cake with chocolate drops in it, called a Versunkener Kirsch-Schokokuchen in German. Took me about 12 minutes, the half an hour it spent in the oven not counting. Yum!

And then I got a parcel from [livejournal.com profile] elwenlj (waves at [livejournal.com profile] elwenlj happily), with lots of crafty goodness! Thank you, my friend! I think I might be tempted to make little felt Easter eggs for the Oldies. There are only 37 of them, after all, and it's been almost a fortnight since I was under real crafting stress. *g*

I didn't do any translating today, though. *feels guilty* Ten more (handwritten) pages, and I'd be finishing this sucker, but I just wasn't in the mood today. Apparently, not enough stress makes me lazy.

On the health front, I'm still coughing, especially when I dare to lie down, but last night was marginally better than the previous ones. Who knows, I might actually heal, given enough time.

I love that they have the option for day or night. How cute that is. I'm blown away by your skill. And what a great surprise from your friend. Always a joy to receive something like that. Keep feeling better.

I know. You just have to be a bit more patient.

Gosh! Considering the distance, they arrived fast. I'm pleased they arrived safely.

So am I, and thank you. Look how funny they are, drying in the bathroom (I always wash every textile thing that comes through the post; one can never know where they kept it):

Not this cold. I have some friends who are dealing with the second month of it. It's got a mean streak!

The quiet books are such a great idea! Love the wardrobes and the day and night windows on this page. The cake looks absolutely delicious - sigh, I am craving something sweet right now.

Actually, they remind me more of deep sea photos, when squids are shown from beneath, with their tentacles floating in the water. But I've removed them to my bedroom now, where they hang from the bookshelves. So I can just take the one I need for my felt eggs; plus, the room looks rather... strange with them. *g*

This is the easiest cake in the world. Just 125 gr sugar, 125 gr margarine, 2 eggs, 250 gr flour, a teaspoon of baking powder, 100 gr chocolate chips and a jar of preserved sour cherries. All you have to do is blend everything in a bowl (save the cherries), pour the dough into a greased baking tin, spread the cherries on it (pushing them in a bit helps) and bake it on 170°C (sorry, no idea how much it is in Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes. It costs you about 15 minutes of actual work, and the cake is still fresh 3 days later.

No problem! I've got a whole collection of quick and easy recipes, as I love to bake but hate to spend the whole day in the kitchen. If you need something, just holler and I might have the right recipe for you.

Yeah. I've been dealing with a chronic illness for the past year and it tends to zap my energy so I'm not around as much but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, especially in writing which I'm woefully behind on.
