Sunday Blues
Jan. 12th, 2020 09:13 pmIt appears that my cold is in the process of breaking out seriously... bleurgh! I so hoped that without standing around on the icy school yard I'd be spared this year. But I've got the barely heated room where we practice with the Oldies, so... I've cancelled my participation for tomorrow, telling the choir director that I want to get better before making anything even worse, and she was very understanding. Of course, the fact that I'm capable of learning the pieces on my own from the sheet music made it easier for her to be understanding.
But there were good things, too. As you can see, I now am the proud owner of a lovely Miss Marple icon, courtesy of
meathiel, which fact makes me very happy indeed.
I also finished translating the current chapter of "The Sins of the Mothers" - only one more to do; then I can turn to the 'lovely' task of typing up, correcting continuity errors (dealing with an insectoid alien species that has six genders and another one that has four makes it easy to mix up one's pronouns), and then it will have to be beta read, since I make a great deal more grammar mistakes when translating then when I'm writing directly in English.
I've finished the red rabbit, too - it looks really cute! Pictures later, when I've found the right bow to bind it around its neck. Mum and I were eating outside today, after church, which means we won't have to cook tomorrow, as we still have leftovers from Saturday. And, since there wasn't anything watchable on the telly (save for Cake Boss), I watched the Miss Marple episode "Nemesis" in the afternoon, in-between coughing fits.
Tomorrow I'll start re-reading the novel; this time the adaptation was quite different. But now: fanfic!
