- gakked from just about everyone on my flist. *g*

1. What did you do in 2019 that you’d never done before?
I've officially retired, and it's great!

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make any.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my goddaughter. Adorable little Baby Emma is the result.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
A female cousin of mine, but we weren't really close.

5. What countries did you visit?
I was in Vienna, twice. Our holiday plans fell victim to the dratted renovation project.

6. What would you like to have in 2020 that you lacked in 2019?
Some decent holidays.

7. What date from 2019 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 4th. The day of my official retirement.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Errr... I might have mentioned already that I've officially retired, yes?

9. What was your biggest failure?
Renovation hell. It ate all our money and energy (and our holiday plans), and the results were less than satisfying... to put it mildly. Oh, and not getting the balcony fixed.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing save for a mild cold, which is the first. Apparently, retirement agrees with me. :)

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't buy anything major.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration this year?
It's just a minor thing: a colleague who's managed to make me feel loved and wanted, and that twice.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Some politicians... the same ones as always.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Apart from renovation hell and the usual bills: craft supplies. A couple of DVDs, too. Nothing major, though.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Errr... retirement? *g*

16. What song will always remind you of 2019?
The ones we've practiced most, with either choir.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Both, actually. Retirement is great, but life has become a bit lonely, plus I really, really regret the loss of our holidays.
ii. thinner or fatter? People say that I got thinnier; I don't really mark any difference, myself.
iii. richer or poorer? Money-wise? Poorer. Old-age pension is about 75% of what I used to earn while working.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Reading and travelling.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Worrying.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
At home with Mum, as usual.

21. How will you be spending New Year’s?
The same way.

22. Did you fall in love in 2019?
Platonically? With Dan Vasc and his extraordinary voice. *g*

23. How many one-night stands?
Not even standing through a whole night...

24. What was your favourite TV programme(s)?
Nothing new this year.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I don't usually hate people ... I only detest them. I must agree with [livejournal.com profile] meathiel in this one.

26. What was the best book you read?
I didn't need anything new this year. *hangs head in shame*

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
No musical discovery. Not exactly my cup of tea.

28. What did you want and get?
Errr... retirement? I start sounding like a parrot...

29. What did you want and not get?
Travelling.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
I don't watch films. I prefer TV-series.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
I actually had to check LJ for this one - I didn't even post an entry on my birthday! OTOH, I probably closed my virtual birthday party on that day.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A long, leisurely journey to France's medieval towns - not bloody likely to happen during the rest of my lifetime, alas. :((

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2019?
Comfy and warm when it's cold, comfy and airy in hot weather. As always.

34. What kept you sane?
Crafting. Although that's just a different kind of insanity sometimes.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
None. I'm not the fangirl type.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Whatever our PM and his cronies were doing at any given moment.

37. Who did you miss?
Friends who've dropped off LJ without a word of farewell.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Not any one person in particular - but I met the Oldies, and they are great!

Yeah, you really seem to enjoy being retired.
75% isn't bad at all, here it's around 60%, I think.

I'm not sure about the 75%, actually. I'll have to ask Mum - she's been a book-keeper for half a century, she calculates such things in her head. It probably isn't 75%, if I think about it; but, of course, I haven't got my German rent yet.
