Here is the link to the TV report made by the local channel about our concert last Sunday:

https://frissvideok.hu/regionalis/1229111-video-utravalo-korusmuvek-az-evangelikusoknal-20191202

There are interviews with our choir leader (the lady), the leader of the Chopin Choir (the guy) and the vicar of the church (recognizable by his clothing), as well as parts of the performance. We are the choir with the white tops, and I can sometimes be seen (not often, because the camera tends to show the conductor) on the far right; I'm the second one in the first row, next to the really short lady with the white bun.

[livejournal.com profile] wanderingmogwai, this one is for you!

The choir look like a nice bunch, hard to make you out. (And very distracted by that splendid spread of food behind that dude being interviewed.)

True, I'm not very visible, but that's okay. It wasn't about me, after all. As for the food, the Oldies were baking like crazy to properly feed the visiting Chopin choir, and considering that between the two choirs there were about 70 or more people present, not much of it was left. We ate the leftovers after the next choir practice. *g*

What fun, even if I didn't know what you were singing, it was still fun to watch. And all that food! :O

They were mostly Christmas-themed Hungarian folk songs, some of them rewritten to multiple voices by name-worthy composers. With the exception of the Ave Maria by Müller, that is.

I'm glad you told us where to fine you. I spotted you! *waves* How nice to see you!

The concert was so very nice! I am reminded of our midnight masses when I was a child. In my early years the choir always sang a few carols in German.

*waves back* I was well-hidden, wasn't I?

German Christmas carols are wonderful, and IMO they ought to be sung in German. Whenever I hear Silent Night sung in any other language, my ears start bleeding... figuratively speaking, of course.

And a glimpse is more than enough. I look horrible on both photos and film. All that fat that is arranged more or less acceptably in 3D looks terrible spread out in two dimensions. The only acceptable photo of me was taken spontaneously by a colleague at the school yard... somehow she managed to get me in the right angle, in which I don't look like I'm three times as big around as I actually am (which is more than enough in itself...)

I know the feeling! There is a horrible photo of me on FB that makes me look like a beached whale rather than an overweight human female, but it was posted by a friend and I can't get rid of it.

People really should ask before they post a photo or another person.

Thank you for the link, I thoroughly enjoyed the video and all the choirs' singing. The church also is quite lovely with the wood and stained glass.

Cool! I recognized one of the pieces as a hymn we used to sing at church. I think I can see you but at that camera angle it's difficult. It was really a beautiful performance. <3

Yes, the angle was really weird, meaning that mostly the sopranoes are visible, but I don't mind it. I look horrible in 2D.
