I had to catch up with my craft projects, since I had daughterly duties yesterday, when the weather was clear and sunny and I'd have had plenty of natural light for my sewing. Which I didn't have today, it being gloomy and rainy and generally dark. Gah, I hate working by lamplight!

But I finished the Cutest Plush Teddy Ever (picture later), and I started working on Santa's socks, which are also supposed to be sold at the fair. I cut out the basic shapes for 26 socks (meaning 52 shapes, as they'll be sewn together to serve a miniature gift bags) and managed to fully decorate exactly one shape. I know, I know, I'm too ambitious with the things, and there will be others that won't be quite this elaborate, but I fell in love with the idea of these dark grey little booties with red, and green decoration, and the one I did really turned out lovely (again, picture later). What can I do? Mass production of simple stuff just isn't my thing...

There are to pictures I can show already, though. The XL Christmas Elves agreed to pose for my iPad, and although the colours aren't completely true (again!) I believe they aren't as horrible as I feared. I called them Edi and Det, after two of the Mainzelmännchen, mainly for the reason that those names so often show up in German crossword puzzles which I use to keep my vocabulary alive.

So, here are my Mainzelmännchen, Edi (on the right) and Det (on the left), grinning like two loons:

And here is the back view from Edi, to show you that they can also be used as miniature gift bags:

As I said before, they were an awful lot of work, and in the end they didn't turn out as I hoped they would, but I hope they'll sell on the fair well enough.

And now my fingers hurt again. *sigh*

Squeals in delight! They are utterly adorable! Cutest XL Elves ever! Hugs to Edi and Det because they are going to immediately be bought at the craft fair!

I can't wait to see your other projects! And I honestly don't know how you manage to accomplish all that you do! Amazing you!

Let's hope so. It's for charity, after all.

Oh, the XL elves look roly-poly cute! I don't know why you are disappointed in them, I think they are adorable. I believe the charity fair is going to be VERY successful again this year :0)

I hope so, although this time there'll be a lot more competition in the plushie department than usual. But what I can't sell I'll gift upon friends and family, so it's okay. One bear is already spoken for.
