Finally finished. My fingertips are in a desolate state, as I've also seamed another double page, so I'm going to take a break for at least a day. But the ladybug turned out well enough, I think.

This page is designed to help a small kid learn to count from one to six. The dots are removable and can be stored inside the bug, hence the zipper in the middle. When removed, the empty places have little red markings, also from one to six, so the kid has to match the dots with the same markings via Velcro. Have I mentioned what a painful process it is to sew Velcro to small pieces containing two layers of hard felt and two layers of double-sided tape. Well, it is!

This one didn't have one particular template. There are many similar pages on YouTube and Pinterest, and I picked the details I liked and put together my own version.

In other news, one of the ladies who couldn't come yesterday with the rest of the gang hopped over today. We had a short but lovely time, discussing family, crafts and other stuff, and I got a gift card for the craft shop from her. Yay!

Do you mean the bug or the gift card? *g*

The bug, a gift card doesn't sound very clever! :D

On the contrary, a gift card is actually the best thing one could give to a passionate crafter like me. I actually hinted to it. These are valid until the end of December 2020, so whenever I need supplies I can get them. People tended to give me craft supplies and stuff earlier, but they don't know what I need at any given time - hell, even I don't know what I might need, say, in two months or so. As craft supplies are not cheap, gift cards are a great help.

I love getting random crafting supplies as gifts. Every once in a while I'll go through my shelves and drawers of stuff like a dragon with its horde... lol. Really, tho... just handling the supplies often brings me inspiration on what I could do with them.

With me, it works the other way round. First comes the idea. Then I start hunting for the right supplies. Then I get really creative, because I rarely get what I need and have to come up with replacements... :))

It was brutal. The dots were the worst. I'll just finish the book with a really easy page - a plane in the sky with a cloud.

I'll bet! You do use a thimble, right?

Only when I absolutely have to. My fingers are thick, I have to find a thimble yet that would be really comfortable.

Oh my! The only needlework I'e done anytime recently is sewing patches onto my daughter's "battle-vest". It's something she really got into for like a year just over a year or so ago. That was tricky. But I'm looking into doing miniature needlepoint/cross stitching cameos. It's something I came across on Ebay that looks interesting.
check this out.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-set-Mini-Embroidery-Hoop-Ring-Wooden-Cross-Stitch-Frame-For-Hand-Crafts/372756721607?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D60042%26meid%3Defaeb6af6bcc47ffa736576643fb6ce3%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D123739934435%26itm%3D372756721607%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Intricate is the polite word for it. ;) it was bloody difficult to make. Not difficult like complicated but difficult like hard on the fingers.

The ladybug turned out quite well! I do not envy you sewing the Velcro through all the felt layers, sounds like a real chore.
