Quiet Book Page 8 - Feed the Elephant

wiseheartIf you want to know how the elephant can be fed, take a look at the original by Sviatlana Balybina.
And this is my version:
Mine doesn't have a squeaky ear because I couldn't get such a squeaking thingy anywhere. So I cut a shoulder padding I had taken out of a t-shirt (because my shoulders are wide enough without any artificial help and paddings make me look like the Magilla gorilla) in half and made the ear out of it. It already had a lining, so I saved myself a lot of complicated work. *g*
The elephant can be fed the same way as the original, BTW, even though the zipper is sewn on by hand. The D on his food basket indicates that his name is Dumbo. Oh, and the yellow strip on the right side is just a temporary solution. The whole page will be seamed with light blue ribbon, eventually. As soon as I figure out how to use my birthday present. ;))
I'm a bit pissed that the base cloth got somewhat waved due to my sewing, but it wasn't felt this time, just cotton and didn't have enough resistance, even with a layer of filling ironed on. *sigh*
