Being vaguely useful

wiseheartI've had a somewhat monotonous day so far. The useful part of it being that i've managed to cut down the polyester interfacing stuff for my quite book to be to the right size, which is something I was planning for weeks but always chickened out. It seemed such a gargantuan task!
The very talented women on YouTube whose ideas inspired me use pages that are either 15x15 cm or 20x20 cm. I cut out both sizes from paper and wasn't happy. The latter seemed a bit bull's and the former was definitely too small - the moveable elé ments would have been too tiny for little kiddies to manipulate. Now I have linings for the rest of my life.
Other than that, I re-read the last few chapters of the Dwobbit story to see what could be done about them, save for tearing them up, and watched some of the Hobbit film background stuff about artwork and design, in the hope of inspiration. It didn't come. Sigh.
It is still very hot, so I think I 'll be dozing in front of the telly until it gets bearable enough to use the main PC. My desk stands directly at the wall, next to the window, and concrete happily adapts to outside temperatures, so it is cold there during winter and very hot in summer. I'm not up to any of those extremes anymore.
School officially starts tomorrow with a short opening ceremony. I'll go to see the colleagues. I miss some of them terribly, and they won't have the time to socialize much, unless I visit them.
