Getting tropical
Aug. 18th, 2019 07:51 pmI mean the weather, of course. No matter how hot the day is, at nights temperatures drop at least 15 degrees Celsius, and it's really puts a toll on the circulatory system.
Nonetheless, Mum and I were somewhat busy during the weekend. On Fridays, after our appointment with the chiropodist, we visited her oldest friend and were invited for lunch. Her friend is a sweet lady; unfortunately, she doesn't believe in seasoning, so lunch was a rather bland affair... to put it mildly.
So Mum decided that the needful thing to do would be to cook a decent meal on Saturday, despite the tropical heat. Consequently, she spent the entire morning in the kitchen, making chicken soup, Wiener Schnitzel with baked potatoes and salad de boeuf from the root vegetables that cooked in the soup. Needless to say that she was flattened for the rest of the day, but lunch was delicious indeed.
Today I took her to church and ran my circles in the different food stores, as Tuesday is going to be a national holiday when ever single shop in town will be closed. We decided to make a dish of Hackfleisch and Sauerkraut; one that can be warmed up several times and only gets better from it. I made some more little felt purses and typed up the finished chapter of the new TNG story.
Tomorrow we're planning to go to the biggest craft fair of the year, held in Buda Castle. Let's hope the weather will accommodate to our plans, and then I intend to make photos. *fingers crossed*
