Frigging weather

After a week of sweltering heat, during which we had the very great pleasure of dragging furniture, china and other stuff from the kitchen, the floor, the bath and the loo into the bedrooms and the living room and back, now that the first round of the big painting job is done, today we had stormy rain. Resulting in 4 (!) different places where the dratted balcony was leaking. I'm really at my wit's end with the frigging place! We've tried everything we could think of and a few things we couldn't, and it still isn't fixed! I really don't know what else to do with it. *sigh*

Oh man what a week and what a day to top it off. I hope your Sunday is going to be a little calmer, at least.

Fortunately, the weather behaved today. We only had one short rain shower that caused no further damage, and the balcony has dried out, more or less. To celebrate this fact, I spent the day with clearing out my bedroom, which means going through several dozen DVDs, audio- and videotapes, dusting them all, selecting the ones I don't want to keep any longer and putting the rest of them into paper bags to store them in the living room for the next two or four weeks. I'm still not finished, but hopefully tomorrow morning I will. And then I can start everything from the beginning in Grandma's bedroom, which has served as my study since her passing. *sigh*

Oh man all of that sounds perfectly exhausting. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will at least be spared more rain. Keep strong, you can get through this!

Thanks. To add insult to injury, my bed just broke - again! - and the friend who might be able to fix it will go away on Thursday for a week or so, coming back only when the painting insanity will be on the roll again. *sigh*

It's not an easy time right now, that much is sure. But I'll run pico next month anyway, so make sure you drop by, even if only to read other people's stuff. That's what I'll do, most likely. The muses don't like renovation.

I'll drop by for sure. As far as writing goes, it will probably be as sporadic as last pico, I've only had a couple of writing days this month. But oh well. Nothing to be done about that.
