I mean the one I've been working on in the breaks in-between the painting insanity. It's for my goddaughter's brother, whose wife is expecting their first child - apparently also a girl - in a couple of months' time. (BTW, Baby Emma still hasn't deigned us with her appearance; the kid must have heard something about the outside word and tries to enter it as late as she could. Wise, wise girl...)

Anyway, here is the front cover. I didn't take a photo of the back cover because it's basically the same and without any decoration, save the paper ribbon at the bottom:

Followed by a few inside double pages, shown in the actual order:

These are unedited photos, for the simple reason that I forgot to edit them before posting them to Pinterest and I'm just too tired to bother with it. So the writing is a bit less sharp and the colours perhaps a tad more pale than usual (and in life), but for the moment, they have to do.

On other news, the first round of the Big Painting Job wasn't finished today. It will presumably finished tomorrow. Then we'll have a week to clear out the bedrooms (7 square metres each, packed with stuff to the edge of bursting), before the next act of horror starts. *sigh*

Yikes, I was hoping you'd get a chance to catch your breath in between painting jobs.

Great job on the baby book. :D

Crafting does help me relax. While I can't wrap my head around reading or writing when this tired, in fact, even crossword puzzles make me fall asleep, I find delight in working with felt or paper, no matter what.

I know what you mean. I'm like that with word searches.

Oh, I like those, too. But they require at least lower brain functions that I don't always have.

I tend to do a lot of them, just because they distract me from other things.

I like them too. Alas, at the current level of exhaustion I simply fall asleep over them.

I'm still surprised you're doing them all in German ...

Well, the recipients are currently living in Germany. I thought they'd want to show it their German friends, so...

It's really sweet! How did you get started in making the baby books?

People started expecting around me, both at school and in family, and since they were the kind of people who could appreciate handmade gifts, I thought I would make them something. The rest was YouTube research and lots of experimenting, basically.

The book is lovely! Very professional. As for the decorating...at least you'll have some nice rooms while the rest is in chaos.

God, I hope so! The first round has just ended, and we are both flattened. We'll have a week to empty the two small rooms and buy the wallpaper, and then the chaos begins anew.

Actually, the text is from a post card I saw (and took a photo of) in St. Pölten, Austria. I've been using it for various baby albums ever since (assuming that the recipients understand German). It is just too funny. *g*

The journal is lovely, as are all the ones you have shown so far. What wonderful gifts for the little ones and their families.
