Just reporting in

Not dead yet... but coming closer. We're in the middle of the first round of our Big Painting Job(TM). The painter promises it will be done by Thursday, and we've started to put things back into the bath and the pantry, but it's gonna be an ungodly long process. Don't be mad at me if I fail to comment a lot in these days, I can barely hold myself together.

Today I granted myself a little boon, though. I met with E, our dear art teacher in Stühmer's Café. She's a wonderful person, overworked and unappreciated at work, but we've been friends since I started working at that particular school 24 years ago. We had wonderful coffee and ate overpriced but very tasty cakes, sitting outside, because the AC was turned up like whoa inside the shop. It was like visiting Vienna (just without the infamous kids). We had a lovely time; a mere hour and a half, but we enjoyed it greatly. I bought some tiny chocolate teddies for Mum, so that she'd have something, too.

Then I came home and slave labour started anew. *g*

Decorating does turn your whole life upside down. I found that the only thing to do is concentrate on how much it will enhance life once it's done. Your coffee date sounds lovely.

Indeed. She's such a sweetheart, I always enjoy spending time with her, rare though the chance is.
