... but honestly, I don't care. I'm relieved that I've brought up the willpower to start the dratted Easter baking at all.

Black sheep this year because I had some cocoa icing left and wanted to use it up:

And the totally screwed-up Nutella bunnies with royal flair.

They are shapeless, uneven and for some reason blowed up in the oven. It never happened before. I can't help it. At least they are extremely delicious. We'll just have to eat them all ourselves, instead of giving them away.

They look fine to me ... and I bet others wouldn't mind either!

No, I'm afraid they're really ugly. This is what they look like normally:

I don't know what went wrong today. Perhaps the dough reacted to my general mood and became depressed, too. I didn't even have the heart to decorate them properly, so unhappy I was with the way they turned out.

I like black sheep, though! ;-)

So do I. :) The colour isn't the problem; it's the fact that I misplaced their ears. And the bunnies really are a disaster.

I am never any good at using cookie cutters... I always end up with blobs, too.

I usually don't. That's why I can't understand what happened. Either the dough was too soft to begin with because I miscalculated the measures (an unfortunate tendency when I don't make the exact same amount as in the recipe), or it was commiserating with me.

I'm always available to eat the not quite perfect baked goods :) This was your trial run, from now on, it's all going to come out perfectly!

When it comes to cooking/baking, I have to admit that I still haven't mastered consistency. The stuff never seems to come out the same way twice.

Your word to God's ear. I'd love to treat you to the ugly bunnies, if you only could hop over the pond.

Usually, my baking is fairly reliable. I've been baking these particular Osterplätzchen for years and never had any problems with them. I wish I knew what happened, so that I could avoid it next time. *sigh*

I think the rabbits are fine! You're being too hard on yourself!

As for the black sheep - hee! Sometimes things just don't turn out the way we want, but that's fine, too, because you get to enjoy eating them!

Nah, the rabbits look horrible. A few comments up I've posted a pic what they're supposed to look like, so you can see the difference.

The black sheep aren't so bad, save for the stupid facial expression and the misplaced ears. I can live with that. It's the bunnies that anger me.

The bunnies do look different than your previous ones, but without the comparison, they still look like bunnies. They also look yummy.

Oh, they were yummy all right! We ate up all the more shapeless ones out of revenge, and they were delicious.
