Got another week of sick leave. Not that I mind - I still feel like shit. But it's strange. I was trying to figure out when was the last time I had two weeks of sick leave in a row and it turned out - there wasn't. I was never been sick for two full weeks before... well, not since I started working.

Strange. It seems I'm getting old. My throat is better now, the vocal cords start working again, but the dratted cough won't go away. It wakes me every night in every 2-3 hours. It's annoying.

I feel like I'm back to childhood when I had bronchitis every year from October to April. Well, at least I don't have to go to school and scream at the little trolls.

You don't yell at your class, do you? All the time, if they're like Aussie school kids.

Enjoy the enforced holiday, and I hope your better soon. Can you get eucalyptus oil? If so, rub it on your chest and throat, and oddly your feet. It works, it helps, seriously!

Of course I yell at my class. At all my classes. That's the only way to get their attention... well, at least part of it.

Do they actually wake up when you yell? Or do they give each other the 'what's wrong with the dragon' look.

One of my teachers had a novel way of attracting attention. She'd take a steel ruler and beat the metal garbage bin. Loudly.

Alternative to Jillian's suggestion: rosemary oil, another strong aromatic. A couple drops on a tissue next to my bed when I'm coughing and congested and having trouble breathing, and by morning, my sinuses and chest are much better.

(Plus, I can flush the tissue in the morning and not smell like koala bait all day, eh, Jilba?)

Take care of yourself! Spring chest colds are the worst, IMHO: the weather changes so much that one never gets a chance to settle into one temperature or humidity. I think that stresses the body further and slows healing. On the other hand, you are producing some lovely writing, so I am confident your head and soul are intact.

Yes, Rosemary should work too. I never thought of it, because around here everyone uses Eucalyptus for everything!
