wiseheartI've decided to trim my flist by the end of this month. I've been planning to do so for quite some time but always backed off, not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings. However, in the meantime I'm getting the impression that the activity on my Friends page somehow manages to make me an outsider again and that is something I really don't need right now. So I decided to only keep those people on my flist who have shown at least sporadic interest in my entries for the last, say, 2 or 3 months.
It is nothing personal. I just don't see why I should wade through dozens of entries every day posted by people with zero interest for my life. So, should you get an alert from LJ that I've removed you, don't take it as an insult; it isn't meant to be one. I run a fairly open journal, hardly ever friends-lock an entry, so if someone has the routine of reading but not commenting, they can still do so. I just think that friendship, even the ephemeral online version of it, ought to be mutual. Yeah, I'm old-fashioned that way.
