Salt cave report and some picspam

So, I finally managed to make my first trip to the salt cave. It is actually a simple room, with its walls lined with pieces of rock and Himalaya salt being evaporated in it. It was quite pleasant, and I believe that given enough time my airways will be freed up a little more. *fingers crossed*

After that, our choir leader paid us a visit (she loves Mum, and the feeling is entirely mutual), and we ate my disastrous Hefezopf; the one with way too much apricot jam and almond cream filling:



Well we didn't eat it all. That would have been too much, even for three people. If I ever make a filled Hefezopf again, I'll have to either make only half the filling (which would be technically compicated, seeing as I made the almond cream using a single egg white), or a double-sized bread.

Oh, and I've made two more pencil holders out of recycled tin cans. Or candy boxes. Or whatever the recipients decided to use them for. Here they are. I used corrugated paper, leftover felt and lace, a piece of leftover ribbon and one ready-made felt sticker to make them.

A bit? You are too kind! The poor thing has no recognizable shape at all. But it is dangerously yummy, so we decided that proper shape is overrated. *g*

I definitely hope it will. The air in our flat is very dry, due to the central heating, and after the first session in the salt room I already felt a tiny bit of ease. I think twice a week would be just the right amount of time to spend there. I don't want to overdo it, either.

I'm not sure what a Hefezopf is supposed to look like, so yours looks perfect to me, and delicious! The pencil holders look great too.

It's supposed to be more symmetrical, with the filling inside. Other than that, it was quite good.
