There will be 40 altogether. Originally I just wanted to make 26, for the choir members, but then I had some leftover paper and wanted to try other versions with the hair and the accessoires, and the numbers just grew and grew... But I'm determined to stop at 40. After all, Easter preparations will need a lot of time, too. *g*
Oh my goodness! After trying and making one, and only one, little bookmark doll, I have the utmost respect for your crafting skills. Your dolls are all so lovely, and they looked like they would be truly easy to make. It just did not sink in until I started, even with your instruction page in front of me, how TINY the doll was going to be, and how totally inadequate I would be at cutting out teensy-weensy, itsy-bitsy little parts. I actually grit my teeth in determination to finish making the one.
Scissors work was the worst, I could not imagine handling glue, so I (with much difficulty) taped my doll together. She is a bit lopsided in places, very flimsy, and her back parts do not exactly match with her front, but ... she is done. Enough said *breaths out in relief*
Making them in Photoshop was fun and easy, especially since I could draw them letter size and shrink them down with the click of a button. Making one by hand was one of the most frustrating projects I have ever done in my life, lol. I cannot believe you are making FORTY. Are you crazy?
You asked for pictures, so I've included a URL below, can't remember how to link. The last image is my try at making a doll that looks like one of yours - teehee. Believe me, my phone camera and the oak buffet background make my doll look much better than she actually does in RL. Materials: Christmas wrapping paper, paper plate, matchstick, felt markers, clear tape, spit, polish, grit and determination.
I don't find your doll so bad, really. I had the unfair advantage to have one in my possession - one that I could take apart and re-fold along the lines a few times before making my first one from scratch.
And yes, I am a bit crazy, I think, when it comes to craft projects. I simply cannot resist making one more and then another one more and then use the leftover paper and so on... *g* But this particular project is almost done; I've made the last 6 bodies, tomorrow or the day after come the heads and that'll be it.
