... and I'm fairly content with the result. See for yourselves.

The closed box, with lid, from two different angles:

The opened box, with the lantern from above and then from the side:

And finally a closer look at the outer layer, without the lantern:

I also finished another chapter of Kansas 2, typed it up and posted it to FF.Net. So, all in all, a successful day so far.

I hope so; it cost me a smashed nose, after all. ;)

The box is lovely. Each side is an envelope, how cool.

Actually, they are little pockets with cellophane windows... and fairly hard to make them correctly because I have sausage fingers. :))

Thanks. It was a long process, but I think it was worth it.

Someone will be ecstatic to receive that. I stand in awe of your crafting skill, because that must have taken hours of work.

I worked on it very slowly, about an hour at a time, so it took me roughly two weeks to finish it. It was nice to be able to take my time with it, since, you know, I actually do have the time now.

It doesn't have a recipient yet, but someone will have their birthday eventually. :)

It turned out great. Just beautiful. I love the colors scheme, the see-through envelopes/pockets, and everything's done to perfection. You should be selling these. A little pocket money in your retirement:)

I'd learn to hate crafting if I had to do it to sell stuff. I enjoy the work too much to risk that. Besides, it isn't that perfect, you know, but I had to come to terms with the fact that I can neither cut nor glue on things in a straight line. *g*

Thank you. :) Now I'll have to look out for someone nearby with an upcoming birthday. *g*
