I slept very poorly last night, due to my sore neck (caused by sleeping in unnatural positions because of my permanent cold and the recent shop window accident). Woke up every 40-50 minutes or so because of the neck pain. So, I'm really, really grumpy today.

On the bright side, when I'm grumpy, I'm usually more willing to make radical decisions than in happy times, which can come in handy from time to time. So, I'm considering to make a few cuts in my cyberlife. I'm about to delete a few Yahoo groups of mine that have been dead in the water for at least a decade, as well as the equally dead Otherworlds discussion board nobody cared to visit for eternity, save a few idiot spammers. Perhaps one of my DW accounts an a comm as well.

I'm also thinking of trimming my friendslist again. No need to keep on it people who haven't posted for years; or those who - while fairly active themselves, clearly aren't interested in my posts. So, why clutter up my Friends page with theirs, so that the entries of real friends go under in all the clutter.

The third step is something I've discussed already. I got so used to posting daily during my retirement countdown that now I feel guilty if I don't for a day. That's stupid. I don't need additional pressure; but it is an established routine now and will be hard to break. I've tried already. I'll try again. We'll see where it takes me. *insert wry grin*

Edit: I've just tried to access the Otherworlds discussion board and was told that all invisionfree boards have migrated to Tapatalk and I ought to contact them for a late migration if I wanted my board restored. Well, I don't, so I guess that's one problem solved.

Making 'decluttering' decisions while grumpy works really well. All the sentimentality disappears.

Indeed! I shall endeavour putting my sore neck to good use in that area. *g*

Online life can get cluttered. I've no LJ routine, just something comes to me or happens and I think "I must share that".

For me, it is more like keeping tab on the things I do, so that I can prove myself that I haven't wasted my precious time completely, but it shouldn't become an obsession.

Thanks. Keeping busy helps distracting myself from my owies, so it's a win-win situation. Well... most of the time.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Me, I get periodically overwhelmed by the need of cleaning up around me, both physically and online; and since the latter is easier to do, that's the part that actually gets done. Sometimes.

I trim my LJ friends list every so often ... but I always feel guilty.

There was a time when I felt guilty about as well. Nowadays? Not so much. I'd like to keep my friendslist übersichtlich, so that I won't overlook the posts of my actual friends amongst all the clutter. You know, the people who are interested in me, too.

That's getting older for you. *g* All in all, I'm doing fairly well, compared with many other people.
