The guy does make some mistakes - bejelentkezek, for example, is, while tolerated, not a grammatically correct form it should be bejelentkezem - and his pronunciation is hilarious in places, but the vid is still informative and interesting.

I saw this ages ago when I was attempting to learn Hungarian. His vids are lots of fun but this one is my favourite!

Mind you, it does make me feel that speaking even rudimentary Hungarian will be an impossible dream.

Well, my cousin's wife is German and she managed well enough. OTOH, this is the reason why Hungarians generally suffering with their first foreign language. - our own is just too different.

So do I. This isn't very deep stuff, though, so watching it won't demand too much mental work.

Very interesting ... I knew Hungarian was somehow related to Finnish ... but nothing else apart from that.
I don't think I'd ever be able to learn Hungarian. *lol*

Oh, it isn't as bad as it seems. Heidi has managed just fine - of course, she's been living in Hungary for 40+ years, but still. The other side of the coin is, of course, that Hungarians find it generally hard to learn other languages. The similarities between, say, German and English - or even German and French, for that matter, where grammatical structures are concerned - don't exist in our language.

Loved the video. With my memory, I'm afraid I would never be able to manage such long words.

It is not as bad as it sounds. German has much longer words; it's just the way our language builds these words that are so alien for everyone speaking any Western language. But my cousin's wife has managed Hungarian just fine and many other people I know did as well.
