Getting used to retirement isn't an easy thing to do. For starters, I don't remember being this busy while I actually worked! Which isn't a bad thing, per se, I just hoped I'd have the time to do all those things I never could do leisurely before. Well, guess what - I can't do them now, either!

Of course, excessive baking is very time-consuming, especially as I don't only bake for ourselves but for three other families as well. Yeah, it started with one colleague, now it's three of them, who are overworked, either with small grandchildren or elderly and sick parents, and I just wanted to do something nice for them.

Then there's the charity fair on Thursday, for which I still have to make small preparations. Then I offered to bake at school with several classes, so I had to do the shopping and the preparation for that, too. And we have additional choir practices for the Christmas concert, which is on next Sunday.

All of this is good and fine, I just wanted to send out real Christmas cards this year - hand-made ones as I haven't done for years. Guess what: it won't be happening. I profusely apologise by everyone, and hope I'll do better next year. I just can't manage it.

I still have 3 or 4 different kinds of Christmas cookies to bake, and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to finish everything in time, especially as we're going to Linz on Tuesday and therefore I'll be pretty dead afterwards. Somehow I seem to have slowed down with advanced age. Ah, well, it's still great fun.

Well, those are still the aftershocks of actual working, but you're right. *g*
