... including the one that's almost over, and the first farewell gifts have already snowed in. *g* One of my colleagues gifted upon me a craft paper punch and stamp set, a pattern scissor set, a scented candle in a glass and a box of chocolate. Clearly, they know me too well, haha!

Other than that, reality hasn't hit home yet, despite the fact that my study looks like a refugee camp, with all the stuff that I've already dragged home. I shudder from the thought what a pain it would be to sort all of it out and put away so that I might find later what I need. A colleague told me that she's got a notebook where she wrote down where she put her stuff after the renovation of their house, or else she'd be looking for things all the time.

Perhaps I should do the same; the only problem is that I'm not really that organized. I've tried things like that before and failed spectacularly every single time. It's the same as with Mum's book-keeping. She could tell you what we spent our money for every month, back to 1970 or so. I never managed to keep a decent household book in my life. Just don't have the right mindset for it. *sigh*

Which is probably why Mum's been a book-keeper all her life and I'm an amateur writer and craftswoman. Clearly, we use the opposite half of our brains.

I'm excited for you! So excited! Have you got a top ten list of things you're going to do (no housecleaning of any sort allowed) to celebrate your newfound free time? Travel? Theatre? Binging on LOTR, all three in one go?

I like the idea of recording where you've stored things. I wish I'd done that. It's one thing to conscientiously label the boxes. But where are the boxes? Grrrr.

Well, we're going to visit the Christmas fair in Linz next week if anything goes according to plan. Then I have to finish my Christmas baking and candy-making. Then I will just do little things at home until the end of the year, plus some serious writing, I hope.
