Today wasn't too bad, all in all. I didn't have to get to work before 1pm, I managed to write a little something in the morning and worked a bit on the pocket letters for my colleagues' naming days.

Naming days are a relatively big issue over there; I think because they are easy. The day of honour of one's patron saint stands in the calendar - you don't have to use cunning methods to hunt it down like you do with birthdays. So yeah, the gifts for the two Elizabeths are more or less finished and I've moved on to the two Katherines.

Still no gas, but for today we had a chicken and rice casserole pre-cooked, which we warmed up in the mini grill/toaster combo thingie and had instant soup and fruit salad to it, which was lovely.

Also, childish colleague who's refused to talk to me during the last three weeks or so left for good into retirement. It turns out she felt indeed insulted for not having invited to my birthday party. Some people...

Still no gas? Meh!

Your ex-colleague sounds very childish indeed.

The pocket letters will be wonderful presents for your colleagues. Does your name have a Saint's Day too?

Twenty three days sounds very close :)

It does, but it usually goes under because who in their right mind would celebrate Namenstag on Christmas Eve?

Wow, but she didn't even want to talk to you about it so that she could find out why she wasn't invited? Well, at least she's gone and so are you almost. You must be so excited

"Relieved" is the word for it. I don't care if she feels slighted, but working in such an atmosphere was unpleasant.
BTW, she wasn't invited because this was a close-knit group that I invite several times a year, and one of the permanent members is someone my stupid ex-colleague hates, so I thought it would be better to keep them apart. Ah, well, she's gone, that's what counts.

Exactly. Now you don't need to suffer her.

Meh. Your party, your choice of guests. At least you don't have to work with her any more. That sounds like a yummy meal. Now you've made me want to break out the slow cooker. I have chicken breasts in the freezer.

Chicken breasts are good. I made the rice casserole with one of them, cooked in chicken soup.
