I'm thinking of getting myself a new LJ - one where I can post all my stuff and people can read and comment if they wish... or not. It would be very cool to have everything I write on the same place.

Having a website of my own is good, but the only thing people can do there is reading. Being able to discuss certain aspects of an individual story would be very interesting, though.

So, dear folks who have alternate LJs - is it very difficult to create one?

No, it's no more difficult than getting your first LJ; less so, now that they no longer require invite codes.

Erm... but I *did* get my first LJ via a code someone provided. So how is it done now?

Go to the main LJ page (www.livejournal.com). About the fourth line down it says Create your own Livejournal! and the word 'create' is a hotlink to being the process. :)

Ohh, thanks! Will do. Not today perhaps, but soon enough. When I survived the German recitation companionship I'll have to push my students through tomorrow and the day after.

Lots of people have alternate LJs for their writing, where they post things "not quite ready for public consumption" as well as finished works. So if you set one up, you'll be in good company!

It's very easy. I had to do it when I created the Axe_Bow community. Do you think one should have different LJs for 'personal' stuff and for 'creative' stuff? I've been wondering about that lately.

Actually, I'm just looking for a way out of the restrictions of various archives - with some sort of review function. This won't be the best solution, but at least I could post whatever I want, and people could comment if they want.

Then I think it's not a bad solution -- You can even 'structure' your posts by adding them to your memories and creating categories, i.e. stories/series.

Well, when it comes to such advanced skills, I'll have to cry out loud for help - I'm horrible in those things. But with such technically savvy people on my friendslist I'm certain I'll manage it somehow.

No, it's as easy as creating the first one. You don't need a code anymore. I'm very happy with my 2nd LJ!
