... and time seems to drag on. I just can't make myself care about school anymore.

OTOH, a recently retired colleague organized me a private student: a 5th-term girl who's been learning English for all these years and her mother now wants her to start another foreign language - German. I told the mother that I can't take private students because of my stupid working schedule (I didn't use that word, of course), and it only occurred to me today that yes, I actually can - if they're willing to wait till January. I'll be retired by then and have all the time in the world.

I spoke with the girl today and she said that starting in January would probably be okay with her mother, but of course I'll have to speak with the mother again about it. Tried to reach her via phone but she wasn't around the phone. I'll try again tomorrow. It would be nice to start with someone from the very beginning and be allowed to do things the way I think would work best, without Boss Woman interfering. So yeah, I'll take the kid if January is okay for them. If not, well, I'll have more time for me, right?

In other news, my mini sewing kits are progressing just fine. I've sewn on the snatches to all but the last two, which I'll do tomorrow, and then I can start sewing the individual parts together. I guess that would take another week (beyond this one), as I've only finished 4 of the 20 so far. Then I can move on to the needle books, 7 altogether. One is completed, 4 others are in various phases of completion and another 2 are still in raw pieces. I hope I can finish them before the charity fair.

I hope the teaching works out, it sounds like it could be really fun and rewarding to teach a language from scratch, especially when you can do it your own way.
