And it was a godawful last day, too. We had nonstop meetings from 8 o'clock to 12.45; well, we had one stop around 9.30, but that was abysmally short. The fact that we didn't hear anything of real importance in all those endless hours wasn't really surprising; it is mostly like that with our meetings. At least I managed to seam the clasps of 10 mini sewing kits during all the desperate boredom.

Afterwards our lunch group, with slightly different participants, went to the little eatery again. Lunch was delicious and we enjoyed the last chance to be together peacefully. Starting with Monday I'll be working in the opposite shift with everyone again. I keep remember myself that it's only for another 3 months.

One of my colleagues approached me today with the request to go with her and her 8th-term class to Vienna around the end of the school year (she forgot that I won't be there any longer by that time), as her class - a somewhat problematic one - has apparently taken a liking to me. I said I'd gladly do so. I love Vienna, and we'd be 3 adults for about 15 or so teenagers, so it should be possible. For someone who was supposedly such a rubbish teacher (according to Boss Woman), it is a bit of a satisfaction that such a problematic class would like me and ask me to join them on their very last trip together.

One week closer to retirement.

Yes, Vienna sounds wonderful! And yeah three teachers for 15 teenagers sounds doable, even with them being a problematic class.

Indeed, 96 days left - unless I've messed up the counting. But even that won't mean much.

96 is doable!

When I worked retail we started breaking down how much time we had left into "enjoyable" measurements so 2 hrs was One Art Movie or 1 hr was One X-Files With Commercials.

I hate endless meetings like that.

Hopefully you will be allowed to go on that trip even if you don't work there anymore.

This is one thing Boss Woman won't have a say in. Even parents can accompany a school class - assuming there is at least one teacher per 20 kids and they just come as an additional adult. I'll pay for my own train ticket, so she can't interfere.

Yes, I did! Well, almost. But I'm determined to sit these 3 months out and not let anything get to me too much. *fingers crossed*

Vienna, just a train ticket away ... an ocean away here - sigh. The trip sounds lovely. Congratulations on your near retirement!

Hi Mira! *waves* So good to see you here again!

Vienna is near to us indeed - barely 3 hours by train. Getting from one end of my city to the other can take longer. Mum and I go to Austria 2 - 3 times a year; she can't manage long trips anymore, and I don't like to leave her alone. She's great fun to travel with, though, so it's no sacrifice.

Approaching retirement is very nice indeed, even though Boss Woman will do her worst to make my remaining work time... unforgettable, I'm sure about that. She's that kind of person.

All I can say about Boss Woman is karma. Kids know a good teacher when they see one, I'd trust their judgement over hers in a New York minute. Enjoy your last three months to the fullest and don't let her spoil your moment.
