I've finished the quick and easy Christmas pop-up cards. This is what the cover looks like; the red one is an exact replica of the one in the YouTube video a couple of entries below - well, as exact as I've managed to make it. The blue one is entirely my design.

And this is what they look in the inside:

As always, my apologies for the quality of the pictures. I'm hopeless as a photographer.

Off to type up some half-finished Tolkienfic now.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. I intend to make another red one, as I have some paper of the right size left, but with a different pattern. I think making a snowman with the same technique should be possible... if I can get his hat right.

Thank you. :) I've decided to give the needle book a try next; I'm a bit scared about that as cutting felt precisely is even harder than cutting paper, and I'm not very good at either. But I've selected some leftover felts and felt applications, and if it isn't really good at the first time I will at least learn from my mistakes, right?

Oh, I think I might be able to manage these. They would be fun for some Halloween cards. :D

They are really easy to make. The clue is to cut out four identical pieces of the middle motif and glue them together before fixing them in the inside of the card. A couple of entries further down there is a YouTube video that shows you the method step by step.

I might just have to check it out. spare time is at a bare minimum at the moment, but it still sounds like fun.
